.. requires a personal decision. You must really want it!
The desire to do something for your personal development, for your relationships in your social environment and for yourself.
The main idea is not to change the world; the focus is closer to home: It is about you and the people around you.
Or rather: it is the people around you and your relationship with them. Ask yourself: Have I lost touch with reality over the years, have I become too proud, maybe even arrogant and too much focussed on my own interests.
Is it possible that I have become blind to the small and not so small sufferings in the world around me.
On my way to the office, do I still see and care about the dog that has been run over by a car and killed, the musician in the shopping promenade, my spouse who takes much care to prepare a nice dinner or breakfast.
Or the colleague with whom I was close until I saw him as my competition and an obstacle to my career.
Such developments are always gradual.
Most diseases start small.
Time to join a meditation course?
To take up meditation means slowing down – as the first step.
Switching down from 5th to 3rd gear.
It does not have to be a full break – to reduce the speed will do in the beginning.
Looking up, looking around, listening, listening to one’s own breath.
Observing – once again – the things and people around me.
I am a part of it all – not more, not less.
Re-evaluation of one’s own situation; climbing down from a position of “being better than others”, “knowing more than others”, “being more beautiful (smarter) than others”. Those sentiments and attitudes should be discarded.
Meditation is anchored in reality:
has real goals,
in this world,
in this situation!
Meditation is also a question of discipline.
No discipline, no freedom!
Neither in life
nor at work
nor while practicing yoga or walking in a forest.
Change needs time, natural time, biological time; not technical time.
The amount of time we need to achieve change through meditation is not known in the beginning.
It will take a whole life.
That is our risk
and our chance.
For how long will we live?
We cannot know.
It may end tomorrow.
Is there a plan B?
Everyone has to find out and experience for themselves.
Don’t waste time.
Improve your relationship with your social environment now.
