The title of Dr. med. Max Birchner-Berner’s Book :
“Ordnungsgesetze des Lebens als Wegweiser zur echten Gesundheit”
means “Ordering pinciples of life as a guide to real healthiness”
states his credo that the underlying laws of an orderly life serve as guides to true health.
We hear about “order” in one form or another, from house rules to economic order, almost every day. Order is what makes activities more easy to perform and systems less complicated .
“Order is the mother of all things, it saves time and words”. This is one of the guiding principles of our upbringing.
“Safety, Orderliness and Cleanliness” was the slogan of our school during our vocational education.
In his timeless life’s work, Dr. Bircher-Benner explores the question why lack of health and lack of order in nutrition and hygiene are so closely related.

To achieve order in our thoughts requires that we are prepared to empty our head. If we want to tidy our flat, we need empty storage space (cupboards, cabinets, wardrobes).
To tidy our head we also need free space. We need to put away the thoughts that “clutter” our mind. I personally achieve very good results in meditation when I write down things. After all, the main objective of the meditative minutes is to put our mind to rest. And besides, writing is a beneficial activity in itself: we off-load things and we forget less.
Order in our thoughts also helps us to maintain control of what we think. It helps us to shut out banal or envious and hateful thoughts.
How much needless controversy does it prevent!

During the information sessions held as part of the fasting week we will address this issue on several occasions and put it into practice.
